Lost Impatiens

This bright red bloom looks massive and all Georgia-O'Keefe.  Pretty cool closeup.  It's grand and fabulous amongst its nonblooming mates.  So much greengage and so little bloomage.  I have failed at gardening here.  I have two pots of impatiens on my porch steps.  Between them and sticking way up out of lots of dark green foliage, there is this lone bloom.  I am not sure why.  Too much sun?  Not enough?  Too much water?  Not enough?  Need some Bloom Booster?  What the hell is the matter with these dumb plants I think.  Google tells me indirect light or dappled shade works. Their relatives on my back porch are in lots of "dappled" shade and also refusing to bloom.  I planted pink impatiens out by the woods in a shady flower bed last spring and they won't bloom either.  Dare I joke that my patience is running thin?  I jest and yet, in my back yard is a an antique cast iron tub I filled with flowers, including pink impatiens.  The tall leafy lime green and maroon plants that are frightening in their height, have grown as tall as the surrounding trees.  Purple flowing flowers at the base have taken over the tub, bullying the pink impatience under cover and out of sight as they encompass every last centimeter and spill over like a bath tub overflowing.  I'll just go look again at my freckled Tiger Lily and five-feet tall dahlias.   No patience for the impatiens any more.
