Hairy Sage

One thing I like about close-ups is that they reveal what I would otherwise miss.  Like hair on sage leaves.  Hair that feels like velveteen.  The baby leaves of my sage plant have the most hair whereas the adult leaves are veiny and bald.  Sounds so human.  Whatever is the purpose of this hair I wonder?  I did a google search to find out and the articles that showed up were about how sage leaves can improve my hair.  Apparently sage leaves improve the texture and tone of my hair.  And stimulate my hair follicles.  I have a head full of healthy unruly curly hair so no need for that but good to know.  But who knew sage could darken my gray!  Not that's useful information.  I still don't know why sage leaves have hair.
