Fairies Peeking
This glorious Gerber daisy presented herself to me as I walked my yard and gardens this morning while my dog did her morning duty. She's the only Gerber blooming right now and it took months for that to happen. After taking several shots from above, I kneeled down to take this one. Most photos are focused on the striking multi-flower center. Top down the nearly black center of this daisy consists of itty bitty blooms, encircled with red flowerettes and then yellow petals called rays flare the color orange. It reminds me of the sun, sliced in half and giving life to all below. But, I love this side-angle view. Open and welcoming and two-tone! Like a reversible flower. Maybe it inverts as the sun set? I would love to believe that. Makes me wonder once again about God after a long time absence. Or at least about little fairies that might be hiding within.
My 100th post!
