Centered

Yesterday I was out surveying my garden.  It is my peace place.  My morning walk.  And this flower, the very center of an orange and yellow Barberton daisy, captured my entire being.  Sometimes it's called a Gerber daisy.  Another plant from Africa that needs special attention to thrive in Maine.  Kind of like me although I am not from Africa I do need more special attention that I might like.  Supposedly the color meaning of this orange beauty is Sunshine of Life.  You can't see here but if you turn the flower over, each leaf is a solid yellow!  I love that it's a surprise underneath.  Again, maybe like me.  The Netherlands produces 900 million of these each year.  That's a lot of blooms.  There are actually three flower types in this one happy little flower.  Disk florets in the center, trans florets around those and the outer petals are called ray florets.  Nature on the one hand is just there for me and you to enjoy, photograph, muse about.  It seems simple and beautiful.  On closer look it is full of complexity that only makes me wonder and smile.
