| Solomon's Seal in the morning dew |
 |
| Lily of the Valley |
This morning I slipped out of my slippers and into my polkadot boots that rest just below my knees. I pushed my arms into my black puffy coat and took a walk around my yard. I stopped and took a long slow breath in out by the driveway. The perfume of Lily of the Valley blossoms turning their heads, as they wait for the sun, cleared my head. And back near the front woods Solomon's Seal's delicate lily-like scent filled my heart full and bursting. Little clusters of white blooms hiding in the leaves where the dew rested. I had to bend over to take a whiff. Yes, a lot of shit is going on in my life, the world. But, this is a reminder there is always so much more. I told my friend who has COVID, "Go take a walk in your yard." "There's ticks in everywhere!" She replied. "Then sit on the deck and watch the birds eating your blueberries."
